Love through Gratitude.
Gratitude is such a catalyst. Of course, it is a catalyst for love. When you say I am so grateful for you or for this thing happening, what are you really saying? With a person you are saying, I love you. With an event, it isn’t so obvious. But it is the same. So, gratitude and love are very closely related. Gratitude is usually conditioned on something. Something happens and we are grateful for it. Love doesn’t work that way. Love is unconditional. If what we feel is conditional, it is gratitude and not love.
Although we feel some love primed by the gratitude pump, it is still conditional. It is conditioned on whatever happened. Love is unconditional. We don’t love someone because they have blue eyes or are beautiful. We love their blue eyes and we love their beauty. We are grateful that they have blue eyes and we are grateful that they are beautiful. Our love for them is independent of their blue eyes and their beauty.
God or the Universe loves us no matter what. No matter what is the definition of Love. We are forgiven our trespasses. If fact, forgiven doesn’t exist. Because there is nothing to forgive. God accepts us the way we are with all our faults and loves us anyway. We are always perfect just they way we are. He doesn’t care whether we have blue eyes or brown eyes. He doesn’t care whether we are beautiful or ugly. In his eyes we are all beautiful. So how does he decide which one is the most beautiful? Always the next one he looks at is the most beautiful.
Do you want to have more Love in your life? Be grateful for the love that is already in your life. Say thank you God for the beautiful partner I have in my life. Then he or she will seem even more beautiful than they were just a moment ago. Be grateful for the friends you already have, and you will have even more friends. Be grateful for the family you already have, and you just might find that you like them even more. Be grateful for the life you have, and you will find that tomorrow you will like your life even more. Love in all your relationships starts with gratitude for what you already have.
